Born 1961; Graduate the Faculty of History and Philology of the Gori State Pedagogical Institute (1983); Post-graduate courses of the TSU (1983-1986). Defended candidate dissertation entitled “Kartlian Dialect of Liakhvi and Proni Gorge of the Georgian Language” (1987); Doctoral dissertation entitled “Vowel Alternating Verbs in Modern Georgian Language” (1999). 

Major research interests: Georgian verb; Georgian dialectology; issues of teaching Georgian as a second language, Georgian slang.

R. Kurdadze has published 2 monographs: Social and Cultural Aspects of the Modern Georgian Language”, Tbilisi University Publishing House, 2011(In Georgian); “The Vowel Alternating Verbs in Modern Georgian Language”, Tbilisi, 2005 (in Georgian with Russian Summary);

He has published around 100 scholarly works and 2 monograph together with co-authors GEORGIAN-MEGRELIAN-LAZ-SVAN-ENGLISH-DICTIONARY”, Tbilisi, 2015 (R. Kurdadze is the author of the idea and the manager of the project, compiler of the Georgian index); “The Svan Language (Grammar, texts, glossary)”. Compiled by Z. Chumburidze, L. Nizharadze, R.
