Giorgi completed the law degree at Tbilisi State University, 1999-2004. In 2009 he finished his doctoral thesis on the problems of international arbitration. At different times, Giorgi has been the beneficiary of grants, scholarships and active participant of programs by the Max Planck Institute for International Private and Comparative Law (Germany), the Volkswagen Foundation (Germany), German Academic Exchange Service (Germany), Chuo Law School (Japan), Japan Association of Arbitrators (Japan), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Alexander von Humboldt foundation.
Since 2003, Giorgi has been practicing law. Since 2004 he is a member of the Georgian Bar Association, and since 2012 is a licensed Mediator by the Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution (Houston, TX, USA). In 2008 he founded the law firm «J & T Consulting", and since 2009 is the managing partner.
Giorgi’s field of interests are litigation and arbitration; mediation and other means of alternative dispute resolution; legal protection of investments; corporate governance; International business transactions and asset management; telecommunications, banking and competition law.
Giorgi has published more than ten scientific research papers in Georgia, Germany, Austria, Japan and the United States. He is also the author of the following books: International Arbitration; Mediation; Introduction to the International Investment Law. Giorgi is a co-author of the Contract Law textbook and the new practical commentary of the Civil code of Georgia.
In 2011-2012 Giorgi was an expert in mediation in the Working Group of the Supreme Council which discussed amendments to the Civil Procedure Code. In 2016-2017 Giorgi was a member of the mediation law drafting group supported by EU and UNDP. Since November 2016 Giorgi serves as an academic director of the National Center of ADR at Tbilisi State University.
From 2006 Giorgi actively conducts trainings and seminars on issues related to the business law by the invitation of the Training Center of the Ministry of Justice, the Training Center of the Georgian Bar Association, Business Trainings Association.
