1. Kurzer Lebenslauf/Forschungsschwerpunkt

Sein Hauptforschungsinteresse gilt der Komparatistik und Migration mit besonderem Fokus auf die türkische Migration in Deutschland. Seine Schwerpunkte in Zusammenhang mit der literarischen Migrationsproblematik sind sowohl die historische Beziehung zwischen der Türkei und Deutschland als auch die türkisch-deutsche Literatur. Die Rolle der türkischen Regisseure in deutschen Kinos, die fortschreitende Entwicklung der Literatur türkischer Migranten und der kulturelle Wandel türkischer Migranten in Deutschland sind ein Teil dieser Studien. Seine Artikel befassen sich mit Analysen der historischen Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und der Türkei, der historischen Bewertung der türkisch-deutschen Literatur, den dahingehenden literatur-theoretischen Konzepten und mit der türkisch-deutschen Literatur aus raumtheoretischer Perspektive. Reiseberichte von deutschen Autoren zur Zeit des Osmanischen Reich bilden deshalb einen wesentlichen Teil seiner Forschungsarbeit.

Erkan Zengin: Biographical note and contact information

1. Short CV/research focus

His main research interests are dedicated to Comparative Literature and Migration with a special focus on Turkish migration in Germany. In the context of his migration studies, he has been examining both the formation of the historical relationship between Turkey and Germany and the development of a Turkish-German literature. The role of Turkish directors of the German cinema, the development of the literature of Turkish migrants and the cultural change of the Turkish migrants in Germany are some of his research areas. His research combines the theoretical methods of comparative literature with the use of historical methodologies. Therefore, his articles analyze not only the historical relationship between Germany and Turkey, but include also the historical assessment of Turkish- German literature, and a critical survey of the concepts in relation to this literature.
